What I Do
Stakeholder Engagement
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Meaningful engagement and buy-in from stakeholders makes the difference between great ideas that go nowhere and those that take hold and change lives. Get support crafting and executing a stakeholder engagement plan, conducting interviews, facilitating focus groups, building surveys, and making meaning out of all that data.
Strategic Thinking
What support do you have, what support do you need, and who or what can help you close that gap? A strategic plan should clarify your goals, account for political realities, and help your team focus on the most important levers you can pull.
You are the expert on your organization. I can ask the right questions and bring an outside perspective to help shake things loose when they get stuck.
Education Expertise
I started my career as a high school teacher, and I have worked throughout the U.S. education system: as a district administrator; in partnership with charter schools, child care providers, and pre-k programs; and on higher education issues, including student debt. I have also worked on related programs affecting children and families, including health care, nutrition, and child welfare.
Currently, most of my work focuses on early care and education. This focus is informed by experience and knowledge of all of these related systems.
Project Management
Sometimes you need an extra set of hands to make sure the agendas are made, the meetings are scheduled, and the promised follow-ups actually happen. I can add capacity to your project by bringing in additional project management support alongside my content knowledge and strategic expertise.
Clear and Nuanced Communication
There’s a time and a place for wonky, dense information - but it may not be your meeting with a key lawmaker or your pitch to a local journalist. Get support synthesizing research and community input into clear takeaways and translating complex policies into digestible information that’s customized for each audience. Good communication meets people where they are.
